Stade RC concluded the Alpe Adria Competition with a thrilling victory over the Celtic Flying Wanderers, marking their third consecutive win and securing second place in the league standings. With this hard-fought win, Stade has earned their spot in the playoffs and will face the first-placed team from the South Division, Rugby Atletski Klub Olimpija, in what promises to be an exciting showdown.
The match was a spectacle of resilience and determination. Stade started strong but faced fierce opposition from the Wanderers, who kept the game intensely competitive until the final whistle. Ultimately, Stade’s defensive solidity and tactical discipline proved decisive, allowing them to edge out their opponents in a nail-biting finish.
Reflecting on the game, Coach Bogi commented:
"After a hard-fought first half, things got unnecessarily tense towards the end. Thankfully, we managed to avoid an upset thanks to our strong defensive performance! I’m proud to look around and see the excitement for the spring season in everyone’s faces."
Assistant Coach Marko added:
"We won because of our energy and hearts, because we followed the game plan, and also in the end because of a bit of luck. These kinds of games are precious because they can teach us a lot, so that luck isn't a factor anymore in the future."
Stade´s recent success highlights their stability and the effectiveness of their coaching team. With playoffs on the horizon, the team is brimming with confidence and eager to build on this momentum. All eyes now turn to the much-anticipated clash with Olimpija, a battle that will test their mettle and determine their place in the competition's spring season.
